THOTH2 took part in the 1st International Congress on Sustainable Energy and related Technologies (ICSET 2025) held in Lipari (Italy) on June 25th. The University of Bologna, a partner of the consortium, represented the project at the event. Research Fellow Salvatore Fici presented the poster “Hydrogen Injection to Retrofit Existing Natural Gas Grid” during the dedicated poster session.
THOTH2’s participation at ICSET 2025 also provided an opportunity to present the project’s broader scope. By engaging with an international audience of researchers, grid operators, equipment manufacturers, and policymakers, THOTH2 strengthened its role as a reference project in the field of hydrogen metrology and measurement.
Hydrogen blending into natural gas networks is gaining momentum as a transition pathway: it allows Europe to cut emissions, maximize the use of existing gas infrastructure, and advance toward the EU’s 2050 climate neutrality targets. In line with these objectives, THOTH2 aims to design dedicated methodologies to test different types of measuring devices installed in the gas transmission and distribution grids.
