Deliverable D1.1 – SoA of measuring devices installed in NG transmission and distribution networks

Several tens of millions of measuring devices, characterised by different operating conditions and measurement principles, are operated in European gas transmission and distribution networks. Each measuring device must comply with dedicated and standardised metrological rules that rigorously define metering performances.

However, no adequately structured database contains information about natural gas (NG) grids’ metering devices (size, operative conditions, functions and configuration, measuring principle). Therefore, since few information is available, an accurate estimation of the economic and technological impacts of different levels of hydrogen and natural gas (H2NG) blend in existing gas infrastructure is very challenging.

The Deliverable 1.1 of the THOTH2 project covers the gap, describing the State of the Art (SoA) of the different measuring devices installed in NG transmission and distribution networks.
